Zach’s Yoga, Calisthenics and Pilates Fusion class
Check out Master Trainer Zach in action during his Yoga, Calisthenics and Pilates Fusion class at Zendo Fitness. With this little video you have the chance to see where and how we work out.
Zendo Fitness Cabarete is a Tiki Gym with a natural Cana Roof. It has a unique ambiance thanks to its round shape and open front with a nice view at beach. We are located behind the eXtreme Hotel at Kitebeach Cabarete. And yes, we are in the hot Caribbean, so we only wear the minimum of clothes ;)
The classes are designed for both beginners and advanced athletes. They are fun and playful! During the workouts you are given many options to challenge yourself and adapt the movements to your specific needs. This makes you in the end a more independent athlete.
Thanks to the Yoga, Pilates and Dance elements you increase your body awareness, strengthen the deeper muscles and increase your flexibility. Zach is guiding you through flowing, rhythmical exercises and gives you many clues, especially for maintaining a good posture. The repetitiveness of some exercises challenges the control over the mind, which is another Yoga element of the class.
Wondering what Calisthenics is? Basically it’s body weight training. Wikipedia explains it quite nicely like this: Calisthenics are exercises consisting of a variety of gross motor movements; often rhythmical and generally without equipment or apparatus. They are, in essence, body-weight training. They are intended to increase body strength, body fitness, and flexibility, through movements such as pulling or pushing oneself up, bending, jumping, or swinging, using only one’s body weight for resistance; usually conducted in concert with stretches. When performed vigorously and with variety, calisthenics can provide the benefits of muscular and aerobic conditioning, in addition to improving psychomotor skills such as balance, agility and coordination.
